Bio: Xiaoyu completed her DPhil under the supervision of Prof. Robert Hoye between 2022 and 2026. She was one of the first students to join the group when we began in Oxford in 2022. During her DPhil, she was part of St. John's College, and her project focussed on developing BiSBr for indoor photovoltaics, combined with ultrafast spectroscopy to understand the effect of defects on carrier localisation. In addition, she worked on spatial ALD of transparent conducting oxides for photovoltaics. Her postdoctoral research is focussed on applying indoor photovoltaics for edge computing, and she is part of the Neuroware IKC consortium.
